AS A YOUNG MAN
This body of work grew alongside two years of changes since 9/11. The figure in these paintings represents an Everyman figure and the principal character in my novel (Parts per Million) who is struggling and disillusioned and unsure of which path to walk upon. He stands in chaotic spaces and sometimes interacts, or fails to interact, with small blue objects and lights that float around him. There's frustration and even despair, with hints of hope -- perhaps a reflection of living through the early 21st century’s political changes.
