ATOMS
In 2021 I returned to drawing on paper, exploring fast mark-making within the quintessential structure of the circle. The archetypal form reflects a new tendency in my practice towards simplicity, the basics, the source. It's an unusual development in my work to have the primary form sit complete within the frame -- usually my pieces appear more like portholes onto moving realms far larger than the frame.
The whole world experienced upheaval and a reckoning in 2020/21, and these meditative circles trace my response. All pieces are inks, pencils, markers and acrylics on various printmaking and watercolor papers.
